NOTE-WORTHY: Vote for better
published: Thursday | August 9, 2007

Vote for better

Jamaicans, have you considered your future? Do you want to continue for another five years with your country in the same or worse condition? Can you afford not to vote?

According to recent polls, there are a large numberof persons who have not made this critical decision. Think now and pray to God that you will make the only right decision.

Vote for the better team, with better proposals to make the change and with the better driver!

'Blue seams' at work

I traverse Half-Way Tree on a Monday-to-Friday basis, and witness the special constables clearing the streets of illegal vehicles involving taxis, minibuses and even motor bikes.

Many persons may disagree with me, but I can proudly say that the special constables can be seen regularly spot-checking vehicles, towing away illegal ones and issuing tickets or even prosecuting negligent motorists.

These special constables must be commended. I wish their red-seamed comrades follow suit, and desist from taking monetary bribes and favours. Thumbs up for the 'blue seams'!

Paulwell again

So Phillip Paulwell has been let off yet again. How many times must this man mess up before he's fired?

NetServ, Intech Fund, cement crisis, Universal Access Fund and now Solutrea; Paulwell is at the heart of each of these mishandled fiascos.

It is hard to trust a Prime Minister who refuses to hold her ministers accountable.

Jamaica must change

I write because I am very concerned for the Jamaican people and also the island of Jamaica. Jamaican politics, I understand, has become a dirty business.

This wonderful Christian country will become desolate and barren unless the people change their ways to the old days of friendship, love and concern for others.

It might help if the best brains get together to run the country, instead of each one trying to gain points.
