Gleaner put KO title on the line
published: Saturday | August 11, 2007

Defending champions The Gleaner Company will meet National Water Commission (NWC) in today's feature game in the quarter-final round of the Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Business House competition at the Constant Spring playing field, starting at 3:30 p.m.

In the day's other games, Port Authority oppose National Commercial Bank (NCB) at North Street, Petrojam entertain Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) at the Men's Hockey field, and University of West Indies (UWI) will tackle Norman Manley International Airport at UWI Bowl.

The Gleaner, which registered a thrilling 5-4 come from behind victory over NWC earlier in the league competition, will once again be relying on the likes of prolific goalscorer Fabian Nethersole and strike partner Jabari Holness, along with midfielders Oneil Morrison, Sean Fraser, Durrant Foster and Audley Boyd, while Dwayne Thompson and George Stephen will anchor the defence.

Meanwhile, the NWC, who are the defending league champions, will be looking to goalkeeper Robert Beckford, Kirk Edwards, Patrick Edmonson, Garfield Robinson and the Boys' Town pair of Rollin Francis and Clinton Mitchell to keep them in the runnings for their only silverware this season as they failed to make the semi-finals of the league competition.

The semi-finals of the competition will be played on Thursday at a venue to be announced.
