Whatever was said is not fit for airplay but it certainly has Marcia Forbes and Harold Brady in stitches on the dance floor.
My daahlings, one of Kingston's leading hosts who is famous for his party throwing is even more famous for the stated reasons he gives for throwing parties - "not to invite some people".
There are those who do throw parties for such equally personal and socially obnoxious reasons. For example, there are those who throw a party to show off a new home or a new acquisition of art, etc., to impress or to just be plain mean and ornery to upset the neighbours. And then, there are others who throw a party for the traditional reasons - to have a jolly good time, and share the occasion with family, friends and colleagues!
My dears, noted attorney Harold Brady belongs to the latter grouping - one who throws a party to have a jolly good time, shared with family and friends.
A leading lawyer, with specialist skills in the areas of telephony and telecommunications, Brady is a one-time political power-player, serving the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) in many a capacities at the national and international levels. Little wonder, then, that his client list includes the cream of the business community and an enviable Rolodex that has included the names of presidents and prime ministers. He is also known for his dancing prowess, as well as his bountiful entertaining.
Fabulously happening do

Lovely women out to party, from left: Wendy Castro, Nancy Maldi and Juliet Castanado also celebrated with Harold Brady.
And so it is my daahlings, that when news of Harold Brady's birthday party was first heard, there was no question that it would be a good party, the question was just how good?
My daahlings, that question was answered on Wednesday, August 1, at his Cherry Gardens home.
Talk about a fabulously happening do, well my dears, this was all that, and then some!

Gerd and Mara Jarchow came out to have a grand time with friends.
Munchkins, it does not come any better than this!
Well, if those expected were under any illusions as to just how much fun they were in for, their arrival and welcome should have displaced any such reservations in favour of wholesomely embracing the air of unreserved fellowship and communion that prevailed. The host, accessorised by a Baccarat flute, presented the picture of a most benevolent figure, bidding all welcome to his home and birthday celebration. And just in case anyone missed it, the grounds and lawns were decorated to reflect the festively resplendent mood.
With the L-shaped lawns dotted with a number of kiosks and outlets serving as stations for food and libations; café style-seating strategically placed to accommodate and yet add a fillip to the décor. The upper deck, with its fulsome view of the city, laid out not unlike an executive or VIP lounge, it was clear that this was going to be one fabulous shindig, and nothing but.
And so it was ordained, my dears, so it was executed.

By now, y'all should know that the key ingredient to any successful shindig is not the copious amount of liquor on hand, or the mountains of food for guests. To raise a party from being a mere get-together to a fabulous number, the all-important factor is the guest list. Following that, there must be fabulous music, as music is the food and sustenance of any good party!
Well, my dears, Harold Brady and his party-planners got it right, and in a big way. Sweet-things, it was a study in hotness and nothing but! And it was something fierce, especially on the dance floor, as honeys, the maestro was Kevin Clarke (and he took no musical prisoners), reaching in his catalogue of yesteryear and spinning some perennial favourites that saw guests getting on the dance floor and when they did, simply danced up a sweltering glow.
One fine outing

This green concoction was the drink of choice for birthday boy Harold Brady from 2:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m on August 1.
My daahlings, it was one fine outing punctuated by premium liquor, a faultless fare by the fab Lorraine Fung, and served up by a battery of nattily attired wait staff who kept things humming. There was never an empty glass to be found, for those wishing to imbibe and make merry, and for the most part, that seemed like all who were present.
And speaking of those present, a stranger to the scene could have easily been misled into thinking that one was either attending a lawyer's convention or a JLP retreat, as my dears, it was that kind of an outing. Lawyers and JLP members, party officers, supporters and candidates, everywhere one looked. Mind you, it was not all about them, as there were many a non-legal and political independent out and partying too. Not to mention the cast of family members. All in all, my dears, it was a case of the fab, and the happening, and pumpkins, they all worked it.
Precious angels, fab like that - as in worth its weight in gold! The drink of the affair - the Brady Punch - a delightful green cocktail concoction created by the attending bartenders to toast the occasion.
