NOTE-WORTHY: Congrats, Tony
published: Thursday | August 16, 2007

Congrats, Tony

Kindly allow me to congratulate Mr. Tony Becca for reminding Jamaicans of the importance of integrity, honour and dedication to ourselves. His most recent articles speak to facts and situations that are not only centred on sports, but outline the history of our country, which can helpthe youths embrace nation-building with a purpose.

To you, Mr. Becca, continue to educate those who have forgotten what methods got us to where we are today. I encourage you to commence a quarterly panel discussion where our people, especially the youngsters between 18 and 30, can be exposed to correct information. All the best.

Embracing change

Jamaica and Jamaicans around the world have elevated themselves over the past 20 years.

I must say that the ruling People's National Party has contributed a lot to the many developments that have taken place within the country, but what is also important, is 'changes'. I have learned to embrace change.

A change is a promising chance at life. It would be good to see what the JLP has to offer. I wish Jamaicans would give them a chance to prove themselves. We must learn to encourage new ideas and a change is a great way to do so. My hats go off to both parties. May God bless us all.

Please vote

As citizens of this country, the most wonderful country in the world, we are now once again at the time when we all should be exercising our franchise.

I am really hoping that every single individual who is eligible will go to the polling stations on August 27, and do what is necessary. We should not take this right as citizens lightly.

Many have been the struggles of some of our brothers and sisters in order for us to reach this stage. We do them and the sacrifice that they have made a great disservice if we squander the opportunity to elect the government of our choice.

Whether you are going to vote for one P or the other, please exercise your franchise.
