Calming coloursI visited the island and noticed that many of the houses are painted white on the outside. If I am correct, white reflects heat.
Could this be the cause why so many lawns and trees and animals and people seem to wither so much?
I suggest that a regulation be enacted for all exteriors of buildings to be painted with colours that are soothing to the eyes, such as avacado green, shades of grey, brick brown and other calming colours.
I believe the stress and heatgenerated by white paint on the exterior would be reduced considerably. At the same time, white would be nice trims and also do nicely on the inside of structures.
I hope this suggestion materialises so that we can help the Earth in this global-warming situation.

No tit for tatI find it quite distasteful and unfortunate that the JLP takes such pleasure in tearing our humble leader and Prime Minister the most Honourable Portia Simpson Miller apart in such a cruel manner.
Jamaicans on a whole don't like pressuring people and this can only backfire, especially since she is not playing tit for tat.
I pray for you humble lady that you will emerge the winner because you are from the people for the people.

'Up you mighty race ...'
I am pleading with you my Jamaican brothers and sisters. Let us recognise that we as a nation will only go forward when as individuals we realise our responsibility.
Too many of us are relying on others to do for us, what we can do for ourselves. We need to loose the shackles of dependency and mendicancy. As a people, we are resilient and we have the capacity to excel, and if we know this then we should be moving ahead much faster than we currently are.
Our first National Hero The Rt. Excellent Marcus Mosiah Garvey must be turning in his grave. Here we are as a people that have withstood many pressures and pitfalls and yet we can't seem to move beyond a certain stage.
Garvey's philosophy is clear and is still ringing in our ear. "Up you mighty race you can accomplish what you will". Will we heed the thought?
