published: Saturday | August 25, 2007

There has been overwhelming response from members of the public to share their photographs taken during and after Hurricane Dean. Today, we share your photos! Keep them coming!

  • (1) Photo by Zahra Masters: Hurricane Dean made this kitchen a little more interesting than it used to be. This photo has been declared today's winner; and will receive a gift certificate courtesy of Sangster's Book Stores.

  • (2) Photo by Tajin Ellis: Not even the strength of welded metal could stand up to the force of Hurricane Dean, as these signs in Portmore soon found out.

  • (3) Photo by Andrew James: Life was made very difficult for large old trees during Hurricane Dean. Just look at this tree on Constant Spring Road the day after.

  • (4) Photo by Leroy Stewart: Standing in the path of a hurricane is no mean feat. Even for a concrete house.

  • (5) Photo by Carmen Walton: The Cayman Islands were almost evacuated when they heard of Hurricane Dean's approach. Thankfully, they only got rains.

  • (6) Photo by Lucien Jones: Harbour View was hard hit by Hurricane Dean, this house braved the weather and looks worse for wear after the effort.

We want your photos of Hurricane Dean to share with the world! Send them to: hurricanepix@gleanerco.net. We have a special prize for the best photos!Get online and send us your best shots!
