Mad rush
published: Saturday | August 25, 2007

Nathaniel Stewart/Freelance Photographer

There was a mad rush yesterday at the May Pen Ice Company in Clarendon as several hundred persons flocked the building to get some of the precious substance from as early as 6:30 a.m.

The company had sold its entire stock on Monday following Hurricane Dean. A number of persons left disappointed while others paid as much as $600 for a bag of crushed ice which is normally sold for $250. One person even paid $500 for a half bag of the precious commodity.
