Terry Ganzie, a rare show in Ja
published: Sunday | August 26, 2007

When was the last time your performed in Jamaica?

I think it was at Garnet Silk Earth Strong down in St. Elizabeth, round about 2002.

Why? Is the problem the concert promoters or is it that you are not interested?

We just a gi dem a time. Every great man have a time. Mi nuh miss nothing, cause mi a keep up to date with the current music ... Right now if me come a Jamaica, mi still a get show. Mi just a tek a time out and give some youths a chance so them can stay away from bad vibes and corruption and more older artiste need fi do that.

How long have you been living abroad?

About for four years and odd.

Do you still do a lot of touring?

Mi still do mi show dem and thing but right now mi master mi stage performance and mi more mature, so if me come back a Jamaica mi just a go explode musically.

Are you satisfied with the way your career is going?

Yes. Mi never ungrateful to the Most High. I'm not working for a reward or award; is just a mission. All when mi nuh get a number one or it look like mi a one of the least of the apostles, nothing ever get me down 'cause a just the love wha keep we through the years.

Many young people, especially in Jamaica, don't know about you or your material. Is this something you would like to change? If so, how?

Because a how it set up, them work with what them see and hear. I don't get much play like Elephant Man, so as mi say 'out of sight out of mind'. The only way the younger generation can get to know the voice is if more radio disc jockeys play me and if I was on more show.
