Fine night out with the 'hotties'
published: Sunday | August 26, 2007

Chester Francis-Jackson, Contributor

Kingsley Cooper, the Pulse boss, and his nearest and dearest, Romae Gordon. - Colin Hamilton/Freelance Photographer

And so, September 3, it will be then. Well, as they say, 'better late than never! Anyway, my daahlings, push has now come to shove, so it's make or break time for everyone. The proof of the pudding, however, will most definitely be in the eating, so for that, let's wait for September 4.

Then, my dears, if y'all missed this one, then you missed one of the hottest pre-hurricane dos. This one was so fierce, guests are still singing its praises, and luvs, with such warm accolades, it's causing those who missed it to go absolutely green with envy!

And it was none other than the farewell do hosted in appreciation of the European Union's First Secretary (Rural Development) Felice Zaccheo, two Fridays ago, in the fashionable golden triangle neighbourhood of upper St. Andrew.

My dears, it was one fine night out with the hotties, the fashionistas, the fabulous and the eligible all out and about and partying up a pre-hurricane storm, way into the early morning of Saturday. Honeys, so fierce was it that the buzz is, Kingston has not seen such a fabulous number!

And little wonder here, as notables included Kingsley Cooper and his belle, the absolutely fabulous Romae Gordon. Aslo in attendance were a bevy of his Pusle beauties and high-flying models plus, Deiwight Peters and a posse of his Saint International models. Though there is not much love lost between these two entities, y'all know we are talking more than major vibes and/or attitude here. In fact, while it was generally one fabulously hot do, my dears, the buzz is in these two camps, honeychiles, the chill was so thick, some bystanders suffered frostbite!

Anyway, sweet-things, it was all about saying goodbye to Felice Zaccheo, a young suave gentleman of Italian descent serving as a diplomat with the European Union, who, during his tenure here, served as first secretary in charge of rural development. He distinguished himself as a friend of the people of Jamaica, as well as quite the man about town.

And with noted musicologist DJ Archie spinning the hottest and latest discs, the mood on Seaview Avenue in the golden triangle was definitely a celebration of life, friends and the good times.

Notables

Saint International's CEO Deiwight Peters. - Contributed

My dears, it was a party about the fabulous, for the fabulous and all about fabdom. Among the notables, were Ambassador Marco Mazzocchi Alemanni, head of delegation; Ambassador Herman Portocarrero, Belgian Ambassador; Amb. Jurgen Engel, German Ambassador; Ambassador Mario Pino, Argentinian Ambassador; Amb. Gisela Garcia Rivera, Cuban Ambassador; Mrs. Madai Fernandez, charge d'affaires, Venezuelan Embassy; Carlo Pettinato and wife; First Secretary of the EC Delegation; Alex Dropinski and Dr. Saphire Longmore; the fabulous Laura Butler; Andrea Bickhoff-Benjamin; Lubica, fashion designer; Ms. Angena Thomas, Ms. Camesha Powell, Ms. Shasha Leigh, Ms. Kristen Wood, Miss Jamaica World finalists; plus many others.

Then, those of you in the know will remember the cutsie-pie of a darling little angel who was dancing around and kissed that little boy as a three year-old in Third World's 'Committed' music video in 1993, and was also the main talent alongside modelling beauty Debbie Whittingham in the 1994 Colgate Toothpaste commercial?

Recently graduated

Well, my dears, she's all grown up now and taking a career path in acting and heading to Howard University as one of 34 students chosen for their Bachelor of Fine Arts theatre arts degree programme. She only recently graduated from the New York City's Frank Sinatra School of the Arts High School founded by singer Tony Bennett. She has earned an honours diploma in acting.

Keynote speaker was academy award actor Kevin Spacey, who commended the graduates on their achievements while challenging them to reach even higher.

Well, she is the absolutely lovely Liane Henry, the daughter of former high-fashion model Karen Stephens and beau Nicki Henry, the son of JLP parliamentarian Mike Henry and his first wife Stella Henry. And she arrived in Jamaica for the summer arts programme at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in her continuing quest to fine-tune her craft. She is preparing for her introduction to Hollywood and stardom, and honeys, we here can't wait!
