And so, my dears, in the aftermath of Hurricane Dean, the political heat is on and then some!
With political pundits predicting wins for both the People's National Party (PNP) and the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), y'all know we are in for some very interesting times!
How interesting y'all are asking? Well, that depends entirely on the outcome of the elections, as the buzz is, if the results are as close as some are predicting and thePNP returns to power, then there are at least two prominent JLP members who are so tired of being in opposition, they are prepared to do a switcheroo, and cross the aisle.
In-fighting
Now, y'all have heard of CAP - Comrades Against Portia? Well luvs, the group is not a figment of anyone's imagination but a potent force, standing in the wings hoping and praying for a defeat for the PNP in the hope that they will be able to wrest the party leadership away from her.
Now, over in the labour party, there's a group known as LAB - Labourites Against Bruce. This group is largely made up by two distinct elements of the party.
Those who are so aggrieved by the way people thought loyal to Golding, treated the party's former leader, they don't want to see Golding and his playmakers rewarded with a victory.
And then, there are those who are afraid that if Golding were to win, the JLP would be hijacked by some less than scrupulous characters, waiting in the wings, who would see a JLP victory as an opportunity to make a grab for the power they could never attain by way of being elected by the people.
And, so, it would seem there is indeed a plague on both political houses!
Anyway my daahlings, it now seems that the PNP has, and rather belatedly, joined in the political advertising warfare. One that the JLP has been clearly winning, in style and context, up to this point!
Now that we are on the proverbial home stretch and the PNP has raised the content and style of their adverts, let us see where this will all lead by next week this time.
Birthdays and Birthdays

Montego Bay businessman Ravi Daswani celebrated his birthday on August 28.
Then, my luvs, speaking of voting, it seems we erred in listing Virgoan Pat Stephens birthday as August 29th. In fact, the powerplayer's birthday is actually on September 3, and that date being the day of the General Election, the Virgoan is expecting the very best political birthday present ever - a JLP victory at the polls.
And so with this in mind, all celebrations are on hold until the last vote is in and counted.
However, September 2 will be all about the Miami celebrations for entertainment diva, Michelle Facey, the former entertainment and public relationsd manager of Hedonism II and III. The buzz here is that it will be all that, and then some!
Also celebrating her very special day on Sunday, is style and social maven Sonja Sutherland Dumetz of the Guardsman Group. She will be blowing out the candles on her cake at a pre-birthday to-do at her corporate offices later today.
Meanwhile today, JLP stalwart Pearnel Charles celebrates his birthday on the campaign trail in Clarendon.
No political campaigning for lady of style and pizzazz, Cecile Levee, however, as the glamour-puss celebrated her birthday on Wednesday of this week with an intimate little fab-fest at her Wine Bar and Restaurant, on Montego Bay's Hip-Strip.
Then. my dears, still celebrating the Age of Virgo, special belated birthday greetings to Kerron Williams, who celebrated his special day on Sunday the 26; beautiful dreadlocked model Roseanna Spencer, who celebrated her special day yesterday; Mark Anthony Schlyffer, who did his thing on the 28, as did Montego Bay businessman Ravi Dasawni.
Best wishes all-around and nothing but! And luvs, champagne toast to y'all and, without a doubt, beluga treats are in order. And the partying continues!
