Finally H View, Waterhouse to play U15 final
published: Saturday | September 1, 2007

Robert Bailey, Freelance Writer

The wait is now over and the dust has settled. Waterhouse and Habour View will contest this year's final of the Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Under-15 final today at Barbican, starting at 4:30 p.m.

The final should have been played more than a month ago but was delayed because Meadhaven United, who were defeated by Waterhouse in the semi-finals, lodged a protest against their opponents for using an ineligible player. The matter was referred to the KSAFA appeal board, which finally made their decision on the matter earlier this week and threw out Meadhaven's appeal, thus clearing the way for today's decisive showdown.

Santos suffered loss

Meanwhile Former champions Santos suffered their first loss of the Victoria Mutual/Dickie Coke Under-17 competition, this after they were beaten 1-0 by Central Kingston at Bell Chung Oval on Thursday.

Clayton Castell got the lone goal for Central Kingston on the stroke of half-time, when headed a right-sided cross from teammate Javaughn Lewin over the head of goalkeeper Mark Bryan.

"It was a very tough game for us today because most of our players weren't available for today's game," said Vincent Watson, coach of Central Kingston. "But we played a formation that kept down Santos' attacking force, that is what caused us to come out victorious."

He added: "I am not satisfied with how we played this game, because most of our players are unfit."

Carlton 'Spanner' Dennis, coach of Santos, said: "We have some set of players who want to achieve but don't want to train, so Central Kingston came here and we gave up a goal to them. But we got some chances and we didn't score."

In action from the Lucozade Under-13 competition yesterday, scores were: Duhaney Park 1 Pembroke Hall 0, Stony Hill Phoenix FC 4 Maverley-Hughenden 0 and Cooreville Gardens 1 Meadhaven 1. The Seaview Gardens-Meadforest game was not played.
