Over the years, Jamaica has produced quite a few talented young artistes. QQ, Daddy and Amanda Cat are but three of the more recent ones who quickly come to mind. It was no surprise, therefore, when seven months ago, two new faces emerged on the music scene.
They are Tiffany Finnigan, 12 and Savanna Cole, nine, who together, form the duo 'Island Girls'.
Much acclaim
Under the management of Ray Cole, they have received much acclaim, with singles Promise Us Love Over and Save Your Dollars receiving regular airplay on radio. They have also been featured on television. Island Girls made their debut performance at the popular Ewarton Jerk Festival in July and they were well received by the audience.
With a splendid balance of reggae and rhythm and blues, the girls are able to compose songs that are of superb musical quality that appeal not only to young children and teenagers, but because of the positive message, they can be appreciated by all.
Savanna and Tiffany are two talented and very well organised girls who do not let music interfere with their academics. Both girls said tha they love music, school is more important to them and they schedule their musical activities around school.
Savanna is also testing the waters as an actress. She recently won the child actress role in the film Better Mus Come, which is scheduled for release early next year. She has also appeared in Sanjay's new video, Man of My Words.
