Lissant Mitchell departs Pan Caribbean on October 31 after seven years. - File Lissant Mitchell has resigned his position as vice-president for trading at Pan Caribbean Financial Services Limited, and has proceeded on leave.
Officially, however, he remains employed to the company until October 31.
Mitchell is expected to take up an offer with a competing financial company, but he declined comment on where he is headed, citing timing.
"In a couple weeks down the line I will be better able to disclose that information," Mitchell told Wednesday Business on Tuesday.
However, chief executive officer of Pan Caribbean Financial Services, Donovan Perkins, said he was told by Mitchell that he was leaving to take up a tremendous new offer.
Mitchell joined Pan Caribbean at the time when it was Knutsford Capital, seven years ago, and has made a solid contribution to the company up to the time of his resignation.
"It's a loss for Pan Caribbean, buthe will do a good job wherever he goes," said Perkins.
Mitchell was well liked and would be missed, he added.
Perkins said he was yet to identify a replacement, but hinted the position was likely to be filled internally.
"The company will continue to do well, a strong team is in place and things like this creates an opportunity for promotions internally," said the CEO.
