NOTE-WORTHY: Embarrassing
published: Wednesday | September 5, 2007

Embarrassing

Let me take the time to write to you, concerning these jokers that tell people that God has spoken to them.

God is not a God that tells lies, neither does he make mistakes. It is full time for these jokers to stop telling people that God has spoken to them. This is rather embarrassing for the Most Honourable Portia Simpson Miller the one they said God has anointed, and the one to win this general election to lead Jamaica.

Did my God make a mistake? Does he give his prophet the wrong message to deliver? For me as a Jamaican I think these people have taken 10 steps backwards. This government has no vision to improve the country from the brink of despair.

Second-hand textbooks

This letter may come late for some people but in this back-to-school season, parents may want to consider buying second-hand texts for their children. Last year I bought second-hand literature texts in good condition for my step-daughter. You may not find everything but chances are you will find a few.

I know there is one on Constant Spring Road and another in Liguanea. All parents have to do is look in the directory under 'Books'.

Wonderful job

I think all the athletes who took part in the IAAF World Championship games did a wonderful job. Congratulations to all of them. Special congratulations to Asafa Powell, you did a great job,be not discouraged, think of this as lessons learned for the next time.

Stay positive, and keep up the hard work. You are still number one. I look forward to seeing you out there again.

One people

Now that the general election is gone it is the prayer of many persons that we can get on to being one Jamaica. I don't think that there is anyone who can argue convincingly that it is only the supporters of one side that are facing hardship. Crime touches every section of our society, unemployment and illiteracy affect us all.

Now is not the time to be selfish in one's motives, we must put country before all else. So when the dust settles, I hope that we do not go off into different tribes to brood and incite violence, but instead we will be honest about where we are as a country and commit to growing this country as one people.
