The Editor, Sir:
This sounds to me that this man is a 'profit' Indeed. Note not prophet but 'profit'. He has everything to gain prophesying just what the people want to hear.
It's a shame that he makes other Christians look so bad in the process. If he is a church leader that is truly ordained by God to take a political stance for God, then why through all this the church's voice has not been heard? They hide behind their pews praying for change but do nothing about it.
I am sure that if a census was taken of how many Christians voted in this election it would be very few. How many people did Rev. Dr. Phinn encourage to get enumerated and exercise their rights and freedom to vote? There are far too many churches and so-called prophets and church leaders in Jamaica for their voices not to be heard.
When was the last time they appealed to the heart and the conscience of the people to stop the violence? Instead of 'prophet-lying' to the people, what he really needed to be doing was urging both party leaders to have a clean and fair election and represent our Lord Jesus Christ in a good way.
I think it's very interesting that these prophetic meetings are conducted in hotels and not in a church. Sounds to me that he is a true 'profit'.
The prophets of the Old Testament never met in an expensive hotel to say thus says the Lord to an elite few. I am happy that his prophetic career may soon come to an end, since the prophets of old were called prophetic ministers not people establishing a prophetic career.
I am, etc.,
