Congratulations Bruce Golding
published: Monday | September 10, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

Let me say to the Prime Minister-designate Bruce Golding congratulations. There are many and I mean many Jamaicans in the diaspora who are ecstatic that Jamaica has turned over a new leaf. Mr Golding, there are many of us away from home who believe in you. We believe you can do it. We do not expect the changes overnight as youare inheriting an economic and social mess generated by 18 years of poor leadership.

We say to you, do not follow that course. Do not support cronyism and waste as was done before. People are going to criticise you as they have an agenda to make it seem that you did what was done to Jamaica. But remembe many did not vote, a silent majority did support you; if they didn't, they would have gone out and voted for the other party.

Try your best, but never allow the corruption and kickbacks to creep in. It will take a strong leader to rein in the bolted horse horse called corruption, but you can do it, as you are the driver!

I am, etc.,
