A 4-0 trouncing of Maverley-Hughenden will see Waterhouse facing old rival Harbour View next Sunday in the final of the Sherwin Williams Women's Knockout competition.
Waterhouse weren't at their best yesterday at the Constant Spring Complex, waiting until the second half to impose their superiority on Maverley-Hughenden, and their coach Xavier Gilbert concedes there wont be much room for error against Harbour View, who beat Trelawny Women 4-2 at the Elliston Wakeland Centre in yesterday's other semi-final.
Too many errors
"There were too many mistakes and errors that we made today that we can't make against a better team," said Gilbert.
"They (Harbour View) beat us on penalties in the semi-final last year and they won the knockout and the league last year so we are anticipating a very good final."
Waterhouse got their first goal in the 45th minute when Teshian Thomas braved a channelge from a defender in the box to toe past goalkeeper Telesha Campbell. Marcillee McBean made it 2-0 five minutes later from the penalty spot aftera defender handled the ball in the area.
Long range shot
Kimiesha Wilmot's long-range shot in the 65th was too much for Campbell to handle and Thomas picked up her second goal of the game in the 68th minute, timing the offside trap to sneak in the fourth.
Maverley-Hughenden's manager, Michael Lowe, bemoaned the manner in which his team was eliminated.
"We lost this game from Friday. Out of a squad of 23 only six people turned up for training," said Lowe.
"Indiscipline is beating this team. Waterhouse train at Maverley and we see them and they have a full squad. They were fully prepared."
Lowe said a team meeting would be called to discuss the club's continuation in the competition for this season.
"We have Waterhouse again on Wednesday (in a league match) so we will see how things pan out. Perhaps nothing will change and we are just going through the motions," Lowe said.
