The Yallahs Primary School in St. Thomas reopened its doors yesterday, after being closed on Monday as repairs were being done to the bathrooms.Maurice Bogle, one of the vice-principals at the school, told The Gleaner the Ministry of Education and Youth completed repairs to the students' bathroom facility on Monday.
Mr. Bogle said two sets of bathrooms had been fixed and were open for the students' convenience. Other bathroom facilities for the students will be repaired during this week, he added.
However, while school has resumed, classes are only in session until 1:00 p.m.
At least an hour has been slashed off the school's time due to the shortage of bathroom facilities, coupled with the number of students at the institution.
"By weekend the other set of bathrooms will be completed and classes will return to their usual hours," Mr. Bogle said.
In the meantime, some 34 persons who were displaced by Hurricane Dean, and were occupying the facility, have been relocated.
