Walker barred from counting ballot boxes in SE St Mary

Director of Elections Danville Walker has been barred by a Supreme Court order from counting any further ballots for theSt. Mary South Eastern constituency.

The injunction, which was granted by Senior Puisne Judge Marva McIntosh on Thursday, is to remain in force until September 21.

Jamaica Labour Party candidate Tarn Peralto, who was returned winner over the People's National Party candidate Harry Douglas, is seeking to prevent the counting of two ballot boxes.

News broke on Monday that the boxes were not counted and Mr. Walker admitted on Tuesday that this was true.
