The Editor, Sir:
Many, many years ago I was sent to an orphanage because my parents were dirt poor. While I was there I developed a great liking for books and so, thought that I knew everything because I was always reading. One day in my class the teacher at question time told us that dogs were covered with hair, fish were covered with scales; then asked us what covered the skin of cats. My hand was the only hand that went up. She asked and asked but no one could tell. She came around to me and said "Please tell the class". I bawled out "wooll" (wool).
From that day onwards I learnt that no one should be too cocksure to the embarrassment of others because cock mouth can kill cock. My life from a poor boy of underprivileged circumstances to that of privileged independence today has taught me that there is always a slip between the cup and the lip, paupers can become princess and every man's fortune can change to fate and vice versa.
The JLP victory has taught many of us a great lesson. Many prophets hung their heads in shame; many PNP got it wrong and so did many JLP.
I adjure especially older more experienced folks just to put your shoulder to the wheel and do what you know is right and the only thing that will tell the truth is one word: Results.
