Pressure on cops to charge their own
published: Tuesday | September 18, 2007

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC):

Commissioner of Police Delano Christopher has come under more pressure to lay charges against a police officer held in connection with the 2006 fatal shooting of an aide to a government minister.

Last week, Director or Public Prosecutions Anthony Armstrong advised the commissioner that the officer, who allegedly shot Denfield 'Tody' Thomas at his home last year, should be charged with murder. However, no charge has yet been filed.

Community activist Paul Chet Greene has now given the commissioner one week to charge the officer or face 'action'.
