New Jamaica Manufacturers' Association (JMA) director appointed

The Jamaica Manufacturers' Association has appointed project consultant Karen Adair as its new executive director effective, September 3.

Adair is said to have strong experience in shipping, port operations and manpower development, as well as trade facilitation and customs processes.

"She also has considerable exposure in managing technical assistance and funding projects from international donor agencies," said the JMA in its announcement of Adair's appointment.

Adair worked for 15 years with GraceKennedy & Company's Maritime Division, and was adjunct faculty at Caribbean Maritime Institute for 10 years.

She is also a member of the Charter Institute of Shipbrokers and the Chartered Institute of Transport.
