I can assure you that it is not too late to reverse years of accumulated damage due to exposure to everyday toxins in our working and living environment. These toxins which constantly assault our cells are:
Sugar-laden drinks and sodas Salty, greasy tasty foods Overuse of harsh prescription drugs Alcoholic drinks Smoking Overexposure to sun rays Unhealthy eating habits Processed foods Drinking water with impurities and heavy metals Lack of exercise and deep breathing and severe stress.
It is amazing that when we are in our 40s and start experiencing stiff joint pains and stomach indigestion, we assume it is old age or when the glow of our skin and hair disappears, we accept this as the process of ageing!
One of the major causes of our health problems today are the toxins woven into our bodies' systems due to lifestyles that have built up garbage inside of us. There is a war raging in our bodies every day when we become more exposed to the above-listed toxins, and the practice of modern lifestyle.
The cleansing process
Chlorophyll is a mighty detoxifier and a powerful cleansing agent. This nutrient is found in our green foods. It is also obtained from powdered green foods found in health food stores in capsule or powdered form. Green foods grown locally are pak choi, callaloo, watercress, parsley and lettuce. Chlorophyll supports and provides a healthy immune system and energy.
The 'greens' should be finely chopped and placed in a blender with 2oz pure, non-chlorinated or coconut water. If there is no coconut juice available add a half-teaspoon of lemon juice. It is important to note that it is much better to use juice extractors.
During a fasting period of seven to 10 days, avoid all dairy products, meat and chicken, alcoholic drinks, nuts, fried foods, wheat, processed foods, sugar, coffee and eating late at nights.
Instead, have fruit juices, vegetable juices, natural green teas and vegetable broths.
You will begin to feel a difference within your body as energy and a healthful feeling return.
Discuss your diet with a nutritionist so as to continue this transformational change.
Aloe vera juice is also an excellent drink to take first thing every morning for not more than 14 days unless specified by your medical practitioner. Take two tablespoonfuls of the pure gel (no skin) to quarter glass of natural apple or orange juice blended with a tablespoonful of honey. People who suffer from intestinal conditions should avoid taking aloe vera.
For a healthy glow
Free radical fighters are known as antioxidants. These are the immune system protectors that give your skin a healthy glow. They are vitamins A, C and E. Your health professional can guide you on taking these supplements. Other free radical fighters are tumeric, pcynogenol, grape seed extract, as well as green tea, sorrel, pomegranate, and cranberry.
Dry skin denotes a deficiency of vitamins A, C, E and B complex; for prickly heat, cornstarch is effective as an allaying compound as well as vitamin C, and for wrinkles use aloe vera gel applied directly to the face or wrinkled areas as well as an avocado facial mask. Remember to keep smiling; this is an asset to keep young in mind and body.
