Committee to oversee BITU

Dwight Nelson has confirmed an interim committee is to be appointed to oversee the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU), following the resignations of its three top leaders, last week.

Ruddy Spencer, president of the BITU, Mr. Nelson, senior vice-president, and Pearnel Charles, vice-president resigned to take up their posts as Cabinet ministers in the Bruce Golding-led administration, last week.

The committee comprises George Fyffe, general secretary; Alvin Sinclair, assistant island supervisor; Kavan Gayle, assistant general secretary; Wesley Nelson, vice president; Clayson Panton, senior negotiating officer and Wycliffe Matthews, deputy island supervisor.
