The Editor, Sir:Why would Mrs. Simpson Miller think that she needs to 'watch' the Jamaica Labour Party as if it's something above the ordinary? I would like to tell her that that is what she is there to do.
We need strong and solid governance and an equally vigilant Opposition. It's sad to say Mrs. Simpson Miller 'fed' to the nation and the People's National Party supporters what Mr. Golding spoke against and that is disharmony, disunity, 'we and dem', and raw and outright division between the people of Jamaica.
It's about time she comes to the realisation that it's not about 'her' and, in truth, really never has been. When she chooses to use a platform to incite rather than unite, singing songs of war instead of songs of peace, we the people are the worse off for it.
Irrespective of how she and her former Government feels, let us all be respectful to the new prime minister and new leaders of this country and give them their time now.
Remember Mrs. Simpson Miller, you did not win the election but you never lost either and the sooner you sober up, the sooner we the people will see again that charistmatic and warm Portia that Jamaicans love.
I am, etc.,
JANICE McINTOSH
