Patience, NAJ!
I am calling on the Nurses Association of Jamaica to let the new government settle down in office before asking for a salary increase.
I agree that the past 18 years you have been working on low salary, but the country is in a financial problem at this time, so the Jamaica Labour Party has to see the country on the right track first. I am a public sector worker, too, and we all have to let the government achieve a better result.

Cutting taxes
Audley Shaw should tell us:
How and why is this government would cut taxes when they do not have enough revenue to fund social programmes and election promises? How does the reduction of stamp duty and transfer tax speed up the pace of business and related industry?
How and from where will the government recover revenue they will lose cutting transfer tax and stamp duty?
How much will this tax cut cost the government?
Instead of cutting taxes, the Government should be widening the tax base to net people in the real estate and related industries.

St Lucia greeting
The Jamaica/St. Lucia Community joins with all Jamaicans in welcoming Jamaica's eighth Prime Minister, Hon. Orette Bruce Golding.
We wish him the strength, courage and God's guidance as he embarks on this mission to heal, unite and inspire the country. It is our hope that Jamaicans, at home and abroad, will come together under their stewardship to build a better Jamaica. We, the Jamaica/St. Lucia Community, look forward to playing a role in this regard.

Stop lights
I am writing to express gratitude and overwhelming joy for the erection of 'stop lights' at the Linstead bypass, at the intersection connecting Guy's Hill, Bog Walk and Ewarton. It is only a pity that so many accidents had to take place, resulting in loss of life sometimes, before those traffic lights were put in place.
I lived in Guy's Hill for many years and had to use that intersection to get into Linstead. I would like to say thanks a lot to the National Works Agency and the previous administration for the work done.
