Belize warns about climate change

UNITED NATIONS (CMC):

Belize has joined a growing chorus of calls on developed countries to aid developing nations in their attempt to address climate change.

Foreign Affairs Minister Lisa Shoman has told the United Nations General Assembly that climate change affects every country, regardless of wealth.

"For over 20 years we have been talking about rising atmospheric temperatures, the depletion of the ozone layer, rising sea levels and the impending inundation of low lying coastal areas," she said.
