Penwood to face Bridgeport heat

PENWOOD ARE expected to have a tough time containing rampaging defending champions Bridgeport when the teams meet today at the Cling Cling Oval in one of three scheduled ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup Group D fixtures.

In the two other games, St. George's will be favourites to keep pace with leaders Bridge-port and Norman Manley when they take on Haile Selassie at Tinson Pen, while Ardenne will face Dunoon at Vauxhall. In their last two games, the defending champions have scored an astounding 20 goals, with a confident frontline playing excellent attacking football.

Despite having not conceding more than four goals in any game so far this season, it will take a gritty performance by relative newcomers Pen-wood to keep the champs at bay.

KC to hunt points

Over in Group B, Kingston College will look to temporarily make up some ground on inactive group leaders Eltham when they travel to José Marti. In that group's other game, Kingston High will tackle Donald Quarrie at the Harbour View Mini Stadium.

In Group C, Campion College will look to stay in contention for a spot in the second round, following a stumble at Wolmer's, when they face winless Edith Dalton James at the Sherwin Williams playing field in Duhaney Park.

Group favourites Calabar will look to move ahead of Wolmer's when they challenge St. Catherine at home, while Meadowbrook will host Kingston Technical
