The sensuous voice of Michael Bolton will soon be beckoning patrons to watch him perform, as the Grammy award winner returns to Jamaica for 'One Night Only'.

As a precursor to the 2008 Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, Bolton will be titillating fans on November 4 at the National Indoor Sports Arena, St. Andrew.

Bolton was the main act on the opening night of the 2007 festival in January and got rave reviews from fans.

Enthused

Executive producer of the Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, Walter Elmore, is enthused to see Bolton return.

Elmore said the return trip was due to Bolton's previous success, commenting that "he was such a hit at Jazz".

Elmore added that putting other hit artistes from Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues back onstage had already worked out extremely well, including Kenny Rogers, an instant sensation from the first time he performed in Jamaica in 2004.

Last year, Air Supply also returned for a sold-out concert at the National Indoor Sports Arena, after a smash showing at the 2006 Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival.

In very high demand

Bolton is in very high demand, having tour dates available across the world. Elmore explained that he felt compelled to bring him back to Jamaica because everybody kept on asking him to, "especially the ladies".

Only one word was necessary to describe the kind of reception Bolton received at this year's Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival.

"Amazing!" interjected Elmore quickly, when asked about the crowd's reaction. During the show, Bolton managed to sing all the hits, which could have been a whole show by himself. It was eventually brought to its spectacular finale only after an incredible three encores.

"The audience really liked him a lot," Elmore told The Gleaner.

Bolton's acclaim is not just a Jamaican phenomenon. He has been just as popular at his shows elsewhere in the Caribbean and Elmore expects the upcoming show to be no different.

'One Night Only' is not going to be simply more of the old either. Elmore has spiced it up by bringing into the equation some "new, hot opening acts". This will include the likes of Rising Stars winner Christopher Martin, Cherine Anderson and many more who will aptly complement Bolton's talent.
