Vincent ends with 11 as Ja qualify

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC):

Jamaica qualified for the next stage of the CONCACAF Women's Olympic qualifying tournament after they thrashed Dominica 8-0 at the Antigua Recreation Ground here Sunday.

The convincing victory gave the Jamaicans their third win in as many matches by big margins, in their Group C series.

Prolific striker Tashana Vincent took her tally in the series to 11 goals when she netted four times against the Dominicans.

Kenesha Reid, 19, scored her seventh goal in the group with a strike in the 38th minute, while Iesha Mowatt, Jodi-Ann McGregor and Marcille McBean were the other scorers as the Jamaicans outclassed their opponents.

Vincent began the onslaught as early as the first minute before adding her other goals in the 29th, 36th and 45th minutes.

Mowatt, McGregor and Mc-Bean completed the rout in the second period.

In the other game, Bermuda whipped Antigua and Barbuda 4-0 to finish second with two wins, while the hosts finished third ahead of the Dominicans.

Shauntae Todd scored twice in the last six minutes before half-time to buttress the lead given to the Bermudians by Ashley Wall in the first minute which was extended by Shonte Campbell in the 24th minute.
