KRW: Participating Restaurants - Bamboo Village
published: Thursday | October 11, 2007

One of the private rooms at Bamboo Village Restaurant.

Bamboo Village: A chinese fare for you

Serving sumptuous Chinese cuisine to the city of Kingston since 1994, Bamboo Village Restaurant does not bear the traditional Chinese décor.

Rather, a light, comfortable, cosy setting is what greets one on entry. Plush seats are covered in forest green and red, while lime green with pink piping colour the walls.

That apart, expect great traditional Chinese dishes.

The restaurant's Sichuan style meals is what makes it special. Sichuan is a cold area in central China. Residents there eat spicy meals to warm themselves and Bamboo Village incorporates that into their menu.

Owner Anthony Choi, explains that other qualities make the restaurant one of choice. "You get good quality food, fresh and fast service. We also use less oil in our food and less MSG seasonings."

If you make Bamboo Village your restaurant of choice, you may want to try their signature dish, Pimento Stick, which is a dish of beef fillet done Chinese style with pimento sauce served on a hot platter.

Want to dine in private? This unique Chinese eatery provides that as well. It is equipped with sliding doors that serve as partitions to create a private setting. In total the restaurant seats 120 persons.
