Wife's political dirt

1. They have always said that 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned'. How about like a woman whose husband has been looked over for a high-profile appointment? The wife, it seems is not at all amused, and is dishing out the political dirt.

Husband's failed trip

2.Since the wife was absent from the birthday celebrations, tongues have not stopped wagging that all is not well with the marriage. In fact, she has not been seen publicly by his side for some time now. His recent trip abroad was to try and mend fences but it seems he returned home alone and with no word of her impending return.

Nature's natural bachelors

3.Some Europeans who journeyed to the north coast recently for talks, we hear, were watching the 'new boss' keenly to pick up on any sleight or otherwise, based on utterances in the past. One of the chief negotiators in the high-level talks is not only one of 'nature's natural bachelors', he is also married to a Brazilian bachelor, for good measure. Mind you, his husband did not accompany him on the official trip, so that might have made it easier for all.

What's behind the attack?

4.It's the email that keeps popping up in everyone's mailbox - a supposedly detailed account of the much-publicised beating, accompanied by gruesome photographs. The question not answered by the email, however, is: What motivated the attack?

All-expense paid

5.Apart from the host and the recipients of the all-expense paid trip down to the islands over the weekend, no one, it seems, is too happy with the outing. What has made it even more troublesome is that at least two of the three involved cancelled scheduled engagements to take the joyride.

Let's now pay the bills!

6.Some to whom they are indebted are now hoping that, with the new employment status, a lot of outstanding bills will now be made good!

Who's the 'Puss'?

7.Her colleagues do not call her 'Puss' because she is cute; the name is to remind them not to give the cat the job of watching over the cream.

Upset customers

8.Some customers who subscribed to the website are now up in arms, and are talking about legal recourse in seeking refunds for their subscriptions as the site, that closed amid the controversy, has not compensated or refunded paid-up and new subscribers.

Wounded egos

9.Are there some non-diplomatic postings in the offing to appease wounded egos?

Political workers

10. Because they make good political workers does not translate into efficient, or even able, office managers, receptionists or even telephonists.
