Parliamentary committees named

Opposition Spokesman on Finance Dr. Omar Davies has been officially named chairman of Parliament's Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Mr. Davies was appointed in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

Other members of the committee are government members of Parliament Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert, Clifford Everald Warmington, Neville Gallimore, Laurence Broderick, Robert Montague, Michael Stern, Desmond Mair and Tarn Peralto, as well as the Opposition's Peter Bunting, Sharon Hay Webster, Dr. Morais Guy and Ronald Thwaites.

Meanwhile, other committees that were named were the Standing Orders Committee, which will be chaired by Speaker of the House, Delroy Chuck, who will also chair the Privileges Committee.

The House Committee is to be chaired by Leader of Government Business, Derrick Smith. Other members are (for Government) Mr. Gallimore, Mr. Mair, Franklyn Witter, Mr. Peralto, Othneil Lawrence, and (for the Opposition) Dr. Peter Phillips, Michael Peart, Fitz Jackson, Kern Spencer and Nathalie Neita-Headley.

The Regulations Committee members were also named. The members are (for Government) Ms. Dalrymple-Philibert, Daryl Vaz, Ernest Smith, Dr. St. Aubyn Bartlett, Mr. Witter, Mr. Lawrence, Maxine Henry-Wilson, Phillip Paulwell, George Anthony Hylton, Mr. Jackson and Mr. Thwaites.
