NHT queries
published: Thursday | October 18, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

We respond to a letter of complaint by Mrs. Lois Bryce of Hague, Trelawny, published in your newspaper on October 1.

In that letter, Mrs. Bryce stated that despite having received the title for her NHT-mortgaged property in 1988, and despite making yearly property tax payments, she recently discovered that her name was not registered on the tax roll.

In the absence of personal contact numbers for her, we use this medium to advise that on January 13, 1995, the NHT submitted the names of all relevant mortgagors in the Hague scheme to the Commis-sioner of Land Valuation with the request that these names be added to the roll. We regret that Mrs. Bryce has suffered the inconvenience of not having her name added and hope that the matter will be cleared up to her satisfaction.

In the meanwhile, should she or any other homeowner within her scheme have any queries, we invite them to contact us toll free at 1-888-225-5648.

I am, etc.,

EARL SAMUELS

Managing Director

National Housing Trust
