FORMER CHAMPIONS Calabar can secure their spot in the Walker Cup with a win over Edith Dalton at Calabar today, which would see them secure top honours in ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup Group D.
Currently in second spot behind group leaders, Wolmer's (28), a win for the Red Hills Road team would send them to 29 points in their final first-round fixture.
Calabar were hoping to already have wrapped up that spot, but their bold ambitions took a knock on the chin when they went down 2-1 to Campion in a shock defeat on Wednesday.
The ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Walker Cup urban schoolboy football's premier knock-out competition is expected to kick off tomorrow with all other group winners and second-place teams already decided.
The competition was originally scheduled to begin today, but heavy rain in recent weeks caused several games to be postponed.
In other Manning Cup games scheduled for today, already eliminated St George's, third in Group D, will look to close out their season on a positive note when they host Penwood at Winchester Park.
Dunoon will hunt their second win of the season when they host Ardenne.
In Group B, winless Donald Quarrie will look to change their luck when they face Kingston High.
