Seven receive Jamaica scholarships

Seven students recently received the 2007-2008 Annual Jamaica Scholarship Awards offered by the Ministry of Education's Tertiary Unit.

According to a release from the ministry yesterday, the students performed very well in the recent G.C.E. A' Level/ CAPE examinations.

The seven awardees, who attend high schools within Kingston, St. Andrew and St. Elizabeth, were selected from among 100 students.

They are:

John Clarke, Munro College, Jamaica Scholarship

Katherine Innis, St. Andrew High School, Jamaica Scholarship

Orville Morgan, Campion College, Jamaica Independence

Anthony Alexander, Ardenne High School, Jamaica Independence

Alicia Rhoden, Ardenne, Jamaica Independence

Hnin Hnin OO, Campion College, Jamaica Adult Suffrage and

Chanice Francis, Immaculate Conception High School, Jamaica Centenary.

The scholarship recipients are all currently studying at the University of the West Indies with Chanice, Hnin Hnin, Anthony, Orville and Katherine pursuing medicine while John and Alicia are studying law.
