Pulse's Oraine Barrett now has another credit to add to his résumé. Oraine is currently starring in the latest edition of a stellar 20-page editorial for fashion's premier magazine, (Italian) Vogue.
The timing of the Vogue editorial could not have been better for the pulsating Pepe Jeans, John Bartlett and Abercrombie & Fitch luminary.
As Oraine heats up magazine stands everwhere, more major players in the fashion industry have begun to take notice and his bookings are a clear reflection of this. Recently Oraine flew to Los Angeles to shoot a campaign for one of America's mega retail brands with Mario Testino and is now holding another huge advertising option with his Italian Vogue lensman, Steven Miesel.
The 2004 Pulse Caribbean Male Face winner's selection by Miesel for his debut Vogue appearance holds iconic appeal in the fashion industry.
Meisel, the exclusive cover and editorial photographer for the Italian edition of the magazine, also counts premier fashion brands Dolce & Gabana, Versace, Calvin Klein and Prada among his clients.
Revered in the fashion industry as a supermodel maker, Meisel's editorial work with Oraine gives indication to the male model's rising status.
Boost my ratings
"My work with Italian Vogue undoubtedly will boost my ratings in the model world and I am elated that the magazine is now out on the stands. Working with Mr. Meisel as well the other top models was also a great experience," comments the Caribbean's newest Vogue debutant.
In addition to celebrating the publication of Italian Vogue Oraine has reason to be happy about more recent stints, including shooting for powerhouse fashion retailer, Lord and Taylor in Los Angeles. This marks his second trip to the city of angels in a month.
To add to the significance of this gig is the fact that it was shot by another of fashion photography's greats, Mario Testino. Internationally famous for his bold and imaginative ad campaigns and fashion imagery, Testino has photographed Princess Diana, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Janet Jackson and Angelina Jolie, as well as model icons Naomi Campbell, Giselle Bundchen, Kate Moss & Jaunel McKenzie.
This marks the second collaboration with Testino for Oraine, who got his start in the business some three years ago after being crowned Pulse's Male Face of the Caribbean.
