With Wednesday's programme at Caymanas Park producing a number of upsets, both the Pick-9 and Super-6 offer carryovers.

Thanks to upset wins by ALERT THE BRAVE at 54-1 and CHINA TOWN at 22-1, Pick-9 consolation prizes were paid on puntershaving six winners, each receiving $47,811.

Ironically, one punter at Caymanas Park on Wednesday had six winners but failed to collect a cent due to folly on his part. After failing to spot the first three winners, he threw away his Pick-9 ticket assuming that all was lost. However, he spotted the last six winners only to hear that the consolation prize was paid on six winners.

The Pick-9 offers a million-dollar carryover, while the more popular Super-6 has $841,243.50 in the kitty and this should ensure a payout in the region of $2 million. The Pick-9 embraces races two to 10, the Super-6 from five to 10. We look at the Super-6 which gets under way on race five with a $170,000 claiming race over 1700 metres to be contested by eight starters.

These include the veteran cam-paigner SEEMELATER who has won two of his last three races, COMMON D, CONCORDE and the down-in-class MARINERO who finished a close fifth to POWERFUL BELLE over the straight in much better company last Saturday, but is suspect going this far. CONCORDE, now pretty light with 51.0kg, gets the nod over recent winner SEEME-LATER and COMMON D.

The Anthony Nunes-trained IT IS I, who has shown definite ability in two starts, gets the nod over GOOD HOPE in the sixth for maiden two-year-olds, while SPACESAVER who chased home smart LA'S DANCER recently, is preferred to old rival SHE'S OUTRAGEOUS and LADY RAKWALWAY in the seventh for three-year-olds over 1600 metres (non-winners of two).

Then, take the down-in-class BADJEROS ROSE to win the eighth race over the straight for the Grooms' Association Trophy for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta, stable-companion BULLET TRAIN following his good second to the unbeaten filly OUTSTANDING to win the ninth race for the Merry Deal Cup again over the straight, and down-in-class SEA CRACKERS over RED-I and HARMONICS in the nightpan.
