Golding slipped bedside booster
published: Monday | November 5, 2007

WESTERN BUREAU:

She was not invited to the National Planning Summit, but turndown attendant Jackie Brown sought to get her say into the two-day discourse by leaving a note, while preparing the bed for Prime Minister Bruce Golding.

While addressing the conference on Saturday, Golding shared the note with his audience, describing the gesture as timely and inspirational.

The note read:

"Mr. Golding, good evening, it's a tremendous pleasure having you here at Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall. I just wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that excellence is a result of caring more than others think is wise; risking more than others think is safe; dreaming more than others think is practical and expecting more than others think is possible. God bless you and may He continue to guide you as you seek to lead this country."

This was followed by resounding applause by conference participants.

The Prime Minister was attending the 'Jamaica Tomorrow' National Planning Summit involving leaders in government, state agencies, private sector entities, academia, unionism, as well as international representatives, at the Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall in Montego Bay on the weekend.
