The Editor, Sir;As an Anglican, my thoughts have been enriched by the encomiums that have been showered upon the late Bishop Gibson for his moral courage and forthrightness, both in the church and in the field of education.
Many Jamaicans heard and read about this great spiritual and intelligent giant either through the electronic or the print medium; however, in my case, he was my confirming Bishop, which I treasure with great pride.
It so happened that the visit by the Archbishop of York, His Grace the Rt. Rev. John Sentamu, who himself is a great achiever, coincided with the recent upshot of achievements of K.C., the brainchild of 'P.W'. as the saying goes, Bishop Gibson now smiles from the catacomb of paradise to see KC making headlines in one of our leading newspapers.
The Latin adage says De mortuis nihil nisi bonum (say nothing but good about the dead). The Gleaner is to be commended for highlighting some of the positives of the Anglican Church and in particular the worlds and worth of the late Bishop Gibson.
I am, etc.,
