Jacks Hill danger
published: Tuesday | November 6, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

What started as a small hole in the road, has now become many huge holes. Jacks Hill is now almost impassable, and if you decide to venture up Farringdon Drive, it gets even more impassable. I am not sure what the authorities are waiting for but if it is the rain to stop falling, then we will soon not be able to go up Jacks Hill or Farringdon Drive.

Persons of influence

I am not sure how many persons who have influence in Jamaica live up Jacks Hill but it seems like they all fly home and not drive. If we were all to have a meeting and set a date to fix these huge potholes that will soon cause a life, I am sure we would get the new Government's help in this project. What can it really cost for a safer roadway?

I will be willing to head this project with the help of all persons who live up in Jacks Hill and roads leading off, to have our own day when we can come out and do our best to fix what is now one of the worst in St. Andrew. They had a 'clean-up day' now let's have a fix-a-pothole-day.

Musgrave Avenue as well, where the NWC has completely ruined not only the road but many cars' frontends, without even a sign of completing what should be a few weeks' work, they have made into a few months work.

In some countries, they take a few months to build a highway; but in Jamaica we take months to install a water pipe.

I am, etc.,

PETER SHOUCAIR
