Prayer for MPs

This prayer is for all Members of Parliament:

Almighty God, look on this island Jamaica with compassion and mercy. Shine your light of honesty and truth on us.

Bless and direct all Members of Parliament with the importance of development of the life of those whom they serve.

Let not pride or self-seeking, no covetousness or revenge get in the way; but above all, strengthen those who are carrying out your work to proclaim your word to those in Parliament that turning necessities into virtue and the work of nature, grace and love; through your name Christ our Lord, who lives with you in the unity of the holy spirit, one God now and forever. Amen.

Searching for ...

I'm desperately trying to locate a Clifford Grant, aka Keith. He was born on December 29, 1948, in Manchester. He worked with the Public Works Department on Maxfield Avenue in the 1980s.

If anyone knows of him, could they please get in touch with his child's mother, Maureen Freebourne, telephone: 13477899311.

The matter relates to his son, who needs to hear from him urgently.

Gun trafficking

Quite recently, the police reported the recovery of a gun that carries cartridges that can penetrate a protective vest and has a longer firing range than any the police have in their possession.

Jamaica does not manufacture these weapons. Thus, it is clear that there are illicit trading in this commodity and, therefore, there are exporters and importers.

Which country do they come from? Isn't there a method to extract the origin from these gunmen? Can't the coast guard and customs be more vigilant?

Every day there are merciless killings, leaving families in suffering. This ongoing fear for life must cease.

Justice in Ja

I would like to see adopted in Jamaica formal enquiries when there is questionable practice among elected officials, and if found guilty they should be imprisoned.

I am an optimist and a student of Garvey who believe all elected officials who violate the people's trust should be imprisoned and all their property redistributed to the state.

Maybe one day we will see such practice of justice implemented in Jamaica.
