Three tipsters reap good payday
published: Friday | November 16, 2007

The penultimate bimonthly prizes in the 2007 Caymanas Track Limited, Markham and Champion Betting Tipsters' competition saw three tipsters finishing in the money, two in a dead heat.

In the most wins section, RJR's Errol McKoy and Oral Anderson finished in a tie, both spotting 69 winners to share the $20,000 cash prize, one ahead of KLAS (Dr. Paul Wright). Starting the last day two behind RJR, Anderson rallied strongly for a share of the purse.

Monetary category

In the monetary category, Chester Rodney of Hot 102 toppled rivals with a +$440 quantity, getting the better of Anderson (+$153), the only other tipster with a positive.

Indeed, Anderson had a chance of winning this section on the final day, but napped the wrong horses, after spotting winners such as PRIOR PARK and LANNY GIRL.

Significantly, Rodney was winning the bimonthly category (plus) for the second time, having previously won early in the year. He again receives $20,000.

In the overall standings, Ultraquest (Donovan 'The Clockman' Cunningham) continues to enjoy a clear lead in the wins sections and with only six weeks remaining, the battle is on for second. Ultraquest leads with 264 wins - 13 clear of many-time champion Orville 'Clarkie' Clarke (250) who is only one ahead of The Star (Jimmie) and Sunday Herald stepping as a team.

Outsiders

In contrast, all tipsters are in the red in the monetary category at this stage, even though Dr. Wright made a big move when napping the 11-1 outsider RUMOUR HAS IT and COMMON 'D' at 7-2 on November 3, to cut his deficit significantly.

As a result, he also enjoys a big lead (plus $3,700) over rivals for the final bimonthly prize in the monetary category.

The 16 media tipsters are vying for lucrative cash prizes. The winner of each section will receive $80,000, second $50,000 and third $20,000.
