Thanks for the sauce
published: Thursday | November 22, 2007

It's Thanksgiving again and Americans everywhere will take the day off, relax, reflect and most of all, enjoy a hearty feast. The centrepiece of the feast is the golden roasted turkey, but nothing sends those juicy mouthfuls down better than the right sauce.

Of course, many will simply pick up a bottle in the supermarket; some will make their own from scratch. If you want to add a little kick to the store-bought bottle, try this easy recipe.

CRANBERRY APPLE SAUCE

Ingredients

1 16-ounce can of jellied cranberry sauce

3 tbs. apple sauce (any brand)

1 tbs. brown sugar

Method

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Cook on medium heat until sauce is smooth, whisking occasionally. Serve over turkey. (makes 13/4 cups).
