Regional journalists to meet in Trinidad
published: Friday | November 30, 2007

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC):

The decision by the Guyana government to place an advertising ban on the independent Stabroek News newspaper will be among agenda items discussed at the fourth biennial general assembly of the Association of Caribbean Media Workers (ACM) early next month.

The ACM on Wednesday said that the assembly to be held in Trinidad on December 4, would be attended by delegates from 17 Caribbean countries as well as from the United States-based National Association of Caribbean-American Journalists (NACAJ).

The Bharrat Jagdeo government has continued the ban on the Stabroek News, despite efforts by prominent Caribbean journalists to find a solution to the impasse.
