CLASSY BOY PETE is pushed out by Trevor Simpson to win the Open Allowance 1400 metres feature race for The Gladiator Trophy in a driving finish from PITTACUS (Richard Mitchell) at Caymanas Park on Wednesday. CLASSY BOY PETE was a 2-5 favourite.

As many as four trophies are at stake on the Jamaica Racehorse Trainers' Association Day 10-race programme at Caymanas Park today.
These are: the three-year-old restricted allowance II for the Jamaica Racehorse Trainers' Association (JRTA Trophy) for non winners of two over 1200 metres; the $500,000 Dye Job Sprint over 1200 metres for native and imported two-year-olds; the three-year-old maiden special for the Earl Adams Memorial Trophy over the straight five course and the $170,000 claiming race over 1100 metres for the Charlie James Memorial Cup. In the latter, the consistent TOCUMEN, who finished third to UGOTTABELIEVE in the CTL Claiming Series on Wednesday, looks a cinch in field of 10.
Both the Earl Adams and Charlie James Trophy races are run annually in memory of trainers on this particular race day.
Glorious opportunity
Ten starters have been declared for the JRTA Trophy and the consistent RIGGED TO WIN, from the stables of champion trainer, Wayne DaCosta, gets a glorious opportunity to win the second race of her career after a string of seconds.
The field also includes live contenders THE BEST MAN, TIMOTHY SCOTT, MAGNIFICO and HASAN from the in-form stables of trainer Gary Subratie.
RIGGED TO WIN was highly fancied to win the Flossie McNeil Memorial Cup over this trip on November 21, only to be beaten into second place by PAGEE PRINCESS. Outpaced as usual, she finished well to grab second, but was still 3-1/2 lengths adrift at the finish.
The stretch-running filly by Outrigger out of Crusader's Shield had earlier finished second to the speedy PERFECT STEP in the Knutsford Park Cup over the distance on September 8 with a personal time of 1:14.0 and, if able to reproduce that performance, should be rewarded for her consistency today.
RIGGED TO WIN looks well off at the weights with 53.0kg under in-form stable jockey Dane Nelson and, if she gets a trouble-free run into the straight, should mow down the front, running horses THE BEST MAN, TIMOTHY SCOTT and MAGNIFICO in the closing stages.
Fleet-footed horse
Nelson and DaCosta should also team up to win the valuable Dye Job Sprint with the fleet-footed MR. SKILL.
The bay gelding has stamped himself as one of the best two-year-olds seen out so far this season and following his facile all-the-way win in the Megafone Juvenile Sprint over 1300 on November 10, it will take a brave punter to oppose him in a field of nine.
I also like the improving FLASH FLOOD to go one better in the Earl Adams Memorial, RAINBOW TRAIN to win over her pet trip (1820 metres) in the second race, DANCING SAM to stave off MAGDALA in the fifth for overnight allowance horses and IMPERIALIST (knocking at the door) over PRINCESS SHEILA and QUEEN TAMARA in the closing round five race.
