Visa launches new website for regional businesses
published: Sunday | December 2, 2007

International credit card service Visa has launched a new website targeted at small and medium- size companies in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The site www.visa.com/ businesscard has on its home page a video clip of a female inviting companies to take advantage of the service.

It was launched on Thursday.

"This initiative is part of an integrated communications and marketing effort to help SMEs in the region better understand how Visa can help their business by offering payments solutions that meet their needs," said the company in a statement.

Jamaican banks offer similar cards, with National Commercial Bank the latest to have launched its own branded NCB Visa Business.

But the new website, in the named country participants for the business card, lists only RBTT Bank as the go-to financial institution in Jamaica.

Subscribers to the card, alongside other benefits, will have access to online workshops/seminars on subjects such as preparing a balance sheet, different approaches to valuing a business, and product pricing - all interactive and designed "to help SMEs conduct their operations more successfully," said Visa.

The website is, as Visa claims, easy to navigate, and it allows users to access a variety of sections where business owners share experiences and give each other tips.
