Defending champions Dunoon Technical and Tarrant will contest this year's final of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/-Digicel/Urban Area senior league netball competition, following semi-finals victories at the Leila Robinson courts yesterday.

Meanwhile, in the junior league, St. Andrew and defending champions Queen's will battle for the other title as they also recorded semi-final victories.

St. Andrew edged Vauxhall 15-14, while Queen's stopped St. Hugh's 19-13.

Thrashed

In the senior league semis Tarrant, led by national goal shooter Christina Solmon (16 goals) and Samantha White (12) trounced Ardenne 31-14.

Dunoon thrashed Wolmer's 36-25.

"It was a balanced perfor-mance by my team because we were more focused today and the girls knew what was at stake and they went out there and did the job for us," said Delroy Johnson, coach of Tarrant. "The final is going to be a very tough one because we played Dunoon in the first round and we drew 33-33 with them, so it can go either way on the day."

Dominated match

Dunoon dominated the match from the opening whistle and led 19-12 at half-time, then extended their advantage to 27-18 at the end of the third period. National Under-21 invitee, Crystal Gordon, led the way for Dunoon with 32 from 33 attempts.

Gordon received support from Jody-Ann Foreman, four goals from five tries, as the orange and blue-clad Dunoon extended their lead in the fourth period as they romped home to a comfortable victory.

C. Lloyd Walker, coach of Dunoon, was delighted with his team's performance.

"The game was an evenly-contested one because Wolmer's have some good players. But we have some young, but skilful players and we went out and played hard and the girls stuck to the game plan and we came out victorious," said Walker.

"I was expecting this type of performance from my team. However, I was expecting a much better performance from Wolmer's because they beat us in the Open Rally, so we knew that they could have beaten us if we relaxed too much."

Did not perform

Winston Wilson, coach of Wolmer's, said: "We knew that we were up against the defending champions, so we had to go out there and perform much better than them if we were going to win and we didn't perform as we expected."
