Question of the week - What should the Government do about the current crime problem?
published: Tuesday | December 11, 2007

What should the Government do about the current crime problem?

Arthur Gordon

They have to start back hanging. There is no other solution. We cannot have people committing such heinous crimes and all they do is sit down and sleep and live off taxpayers' money when they go to prison. If a man commits murder, his life should also be taken. Lashing should also be resumed.

Jemima Moffatt

It is out of the Government's hands. No man can stop the crime in Jamaica anymore. It is up to God. It get too bad. Is prophecy fulfilling. God alone can change the country.

Anthony Bryan

I think the Government should start back hanging. If a man knows he is going to die if he kills someone, he will think twice. Once yuh find them guilty, just get rid of them.

Ajani Barnett

The youths need more to do. They need jobs and more opportunities. They are idle and so the devil finds work for them.

Rosemary Nembhard

Unemployment must be addressed. Di yutes dem nuh have no work and dem cyaan feed dem family. If they give de yutes dem work, the crime will slow down.
