1. Best Family dinner/brunch outing. Diane Watson's Contemporary Gallery and Eatery, now on Argyle Road, at what used to be the official mayor's residence. The hominy corn porridge is worth its weight in gold.

2. The Hilton Kingston, Palm Court is the place for those who prefer the gourmet and the place to see and be seen.

3. Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel, along Waterloo Road, is perfect for all-season fine dining.

4. The Courtleigh Hotel is still Kingston's best-kept brunch secret.

5. Cecile Levee's Wine Bar and Restaurant Wine With Me on Montego Bay's Hip Strip, in th West Hotel, is the second city's hottest spot for the season, And how could it not be when it proclaims "the pleasure is in every screw"!

6. Norma's Cook-Shop on Whitehall Avenue, for the best home-made sorrel and Christmas puddings. You can also take home her ackee and codfish served up with corned pork.

7. Hamilton's Smoke House, located on Sandringham Avenue, is not just a fabulous success story of the triumph of the human spirit over adversity; it has one of the finds for the season - smoked honey-glazed ham.

8. Mac's Gourmet Market just across from King's House has the best in goodies, but nothing stands out like its pre-packaged steaks. And if you all want a treat with a difference - luvs, the Bottega Limoncino, out of Sicily, is to die for.

9. Tom Finnegan's Wine Merchants on Central Avenue still has one of the best and widest selections in all the fine things; the wines, cheeses, and bon-bons make any palate dance in appreciation.

10 Lascelles Group Wine Division, the find of the season from their great cellar is definitely a Red - The Fronterra - a must-have companion for the ham this season, and not to mention an excellent companion to duck, filet mignon and stew peas. Marilyn Bennett take a bow!

11. Hedonism III in Runaway Bay, as well as Hedonism II, in Negril represent the best deal for party lovers who want to ring in the New Year with passion.

12. For those with discriminating taste and style, the preferred resorts are Grand Lido Negril and or Grand Lido Braco - they represent old-world style, grandeur and flawless service.

13. Round Hill and The Half Moon, in Montego Bay, and Strawberry Hill in Irish Town and Golden Eye in Oracabessa, St. Mary, are in a class by themselves!

14. For relaxed and mature civilise there's no place like The Royal Plantation, Ocho Rios.

15. Couples Negril and Couples Ocho Rios: represent all that and then some when it comes to fabulous food, relaxed atmosphere.

16. Starfish Resort in Trelawny is a definite godsend where the family is well and truly pampered, baby-sitters and all.

17. Guardsman Serenity Petting Zoo and Wildlife Park the perfect choice for families looking for a one-day outing. The emphasis is an adventure for children in a relaxed family atmosphere.

18. For shopping, Sovereign Manor Park, Hi-Lo Manor Park and Loshusan in Barbican, are the best treats in Kingston for up-market offerings.

19. MaxBrown is still the finest gentlemen's clothier in Kingston.

20. Signatures is the preferred house of style for women of taste and immeasurable style.

21. Lee's Fifth Avenue represents the very best in retail merchandising.

22. Welcome To Jamrock represents the best pre-Christmas entertainment offering.

23. Sting the post-Christma - but here patrons must take care.

24. Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival 2008 in Montego Bay next month where the world awaits the supreme diva Ms. Diana Ross and more.
